Video Game Developers as a whole are cross-disciplined creators

They are the Software Engineers who work on or work with the game engine. programming the game play elements, and helping to merge all pieces of video game development. All into one playable product. They are the core individuals that allow the project to run on our monitors.

They have the job of applying the designs and requirements to a workable state. Set out by the game designers and other relevant parties like management.

Depending on the type of Game Developer you choose to be. You could work within many roles over a large project that requires different skill sets. You could also specialize in the field of Game Development. Such as a Game Engine Programmer, whose job is to program the video games engine infrastructure that allows the game to run.

The main skills a Game Developer has is their ability to problem solve, and to think outside the box. To be able to code using mathematics and programming principles. They use communication and the ability to interpret data to achieve their goals. Feedback and collaboration with other people are crucial in becoming a good game developer.
