Choose how you study

You may choose to study in person.

This involves attending classes at colleges, universities, or tech schools. You may find other institutes that also offer accredited learning.

Most jobs in today’s world require a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Some of these degrees only focus on game development. With other degrees containing individual papers and projects. An equivalent to a BA degree may be a portfolio of work that include showreels, code samples and projects.

You would use books, teachers, lectures and other material provided for or referenced by the school. You can also access all the online learning resources available to you.

There is a heap of experience, course structure and high levels of accredited learning these institutes provide.

Engaging in person with your peers and the work, socializing, and learning from people are one of the most important aspects of life. And the college experience can offer up a lot in that aspect.

If you do not wish to attend an institute, you could decide to self-learn through the library and other local resources available to you. Using the online resources when they become available.
You may choose to learn online.

You can find accredited degrees and courses you can do completely online. Through various colleges, tech schools, and other institutes that offer them.

There are also services that can offer educational pathways that are equal to a course or degree. Such as mentorships, boot camps, and certifications.

You would be contacting the institute and seeing what options are available to you. Each institute will have its own pathway to learning the content. So check out their education process first before signing up.

The online method of learning is generally less expensive than in-person learning.

You could also try self-learning through the available content found on websites and platforms. There are many online educators who provide free roadmaps and guides to help you self-learn. It can be more difficult to self-learning for some people. But it opens up to a lot more varied content and a cheaper method of learning.

Communication with students and teachers would come from online forums, discords, and other social apps.
You may choose to study a combination of In-Person and Online.

You might gain accredited education by attending a local and/or online institute or platform. There may be free alternatives to these through the local region you live in, or online.

Blended learning allows you to get benefits from both types of learning. And is a well-rounded way to learn for students in this industry. You may even have the problem of having too much learning material. But you should follow the curriculum you are learning within.

You may choose to study in person at a college. And part-time through a website or institute, whether its free or paid for. There are many different methods and pathways you could take for your learning. So make sure to pick the right one that best suits how you learn.
